Kale: Good for the Body, Good for the Mind

Have Kale on the mind? Plenty of reasons for it to be! As reported by Bloomberg, studies by the National Academy of Sciences have shown that, when combined, Folic acid, B6 and B12 vitamins, slowed atrophy of gray matter in brain areas affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Kale is a great source of all three given it's high Vitamin B content.

Additionally, Be Brain Fit reminds us that kale contains carotenoids and sulforaphane, which protect and heal the brain. Kale also is a source of L-tyrosine, which can have positive effects on mood and improve memory, learning and analytical skills.
