Is "Gluten Free" sticking around?

Some are huge GF proponents, others are skeptics. On one hand, one can argue Gluten was the original driver behind the transition from a nomadic hunter-gatherer population to a settled civilization - so it has been a staple of our diet since long before we became the society we are today. On the other hand, a large percentage of the US population now cannot eat, or is sensitive to Gluten-based foods, such that the consumer base continues to grow for GF free products. One very key point - when a family with just ONE Gluten sensitive member needs to prepare a meal, that meal must be fully Gluten Free.

Why did WE at SuperEats go Gluten Free? We wanted to make sure we had the most nutritional snack that would be an option for ALL health-conscious eaters. The 6-8% of the US population who truly can't consume Gluten need to snack on something tasty too!

Some great points in this NY Times article about the potential staying power of the movement. Let us know what YOU think
